Suresh Ishwar Pote : An Introduction

 


Mr. Suresh Ishwar Pote is a respected, dedicated, and lifelong active social worker from Maharashtra who has remained committed to public service throughout his life. He was born on October 1, 1955, in Dharavi, Mumbai. At present, he resides in Nerul, Navi Mumbai, and continues to work tirelessly for social upliftment, public awareness, and the welfare of senior citizens. He serves as the President of the Maharashtra Senior Citizens Federation (FESCOM) for the Mumbai-Navi Mumbai Regional Division for the term 2024–2027, and as a Regulatory Board Member of FESCOM Maharashtra State. His leadership is known for being visionary, participatory, and community-oriented.

Along with these roles, Mr. Pote also carries several important responsibilities. He is the President of the Belapur Senior Citizens Association, Vice President of the Sevadhari Senior Citizens Organization, and President of the Shri Moreshwar Co-operative Housing Society. He is also the former Director of the Maharashtra Business Guidance Center, Mumbai, and currently serves as Director (2025–2028) and Vice President of the Konkan Region at the Electrical Contractors Association of Maharashtra (ECAM). In addition, he is the Director of the Diva Koliwada Senior Citizens Organization, where he continues to work relentlessly for the protection of senior citizens’ rights and the implementation of social security schemes.

In the past, he has also made significant contributions while holding several major leadership positions. He was the Secretary (2020–2024) of the Maharashtra Senior Citizens Federation, Mumbai-Navi Mumbai Regional Division, Vice President and Chief Executive of the Mumbai Journalists’ Association, and Director of the Pune District Residents’ Association, Mumbai. The Government of Maharashtra entrusted him with various administrative responsibilities  he served as a Special Executive Magistrate at Vikhroli from June 16, 1988 to 1995, and later as a Special Executive Officer in Mumbai during 2001–2005 and again after 2012.

To promote public safety, law and order, and citizen participation, Mr. Pote acts as the Coordinator of the “Jagruk Navi Mumbaikar Abhiyan” (Aware Navi Mumbaikar Campaign), an initiative of the Special Branch of Navi Mumbai Police. He also serves as a Peace Committee Member at the NRI Police Station, Belapur, and as an invited member of the Senior Citizens Helpline at Prabhadevi. Furthermore, he is a Patron Member of the All India Senior Citizens Confederation (AISCCON) and holds leadership positions in several affiliated organizations.

Through his social work, administrative experience, leadership qualities, and unwavering commitment to public welfare, Mr. Suresh Pote has earned recognition as an ideal social worker in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and across Maharashtra. His approach has always been broad-minded and dedicated to the public good, with a strong focus on senior citizen welfare, women empowerment, civic awareness, administrative cooperation, and the upliftment of underprivileged sections of society.
